transfer data from broken s9 to new s9

Post by rdfry » Mon Sep 20, 2010 5:59 pm

I woke up this morning and my screen on my s9 was blank, the only thing showing was the backlight. Took the s9 to the DME and got it replaced, now I need to transfer the data from the broken machine to the new machine. Can I just copy the data log from the old sd card to the new one ?

Just put the old card in the new machine. I think that will work.

I'll be interested in other peoples reply, but I don't think you can copy the data from the old machine to the new one.
If you have been downloading the data to your computer you will have a continuous record there, but otherwise you will need to print out reports from the old machine as required by yourself and others.
You could also keep the old SD card without using it again to keep its data intact.

Yup, yup. The data won't transfer to/from the card and a new CPAP. I'd download the card to the software. And I'd keep/store that data card and buy a new data card for the new CPAP. I did that w/my S8 Elite before I sold it and saved that data card. And then when I had to switch from the S8 AutoSet Vantage to the VPAP Auto I did the download but also saved that data card and I use a new data card for the VPAP Auto.

May I ask what the point of saving the SD card - whether you saved the data to the computer or not, why bother? Just wondering.

I don't buy that, the DME certifies compliance and if that were the case would take possession of the card.
Negative not buyin that...

My DME just reads off the machine for compliance, done.

Next...

So if one were to purchase a new (blank) SD card, format it & name it RESMED, and pop it into the S9, would the S9 transfer the data in the S9 to the new card? Just curious.

Pretty much yes. Except that the S9 wants the card to be NO NAME not RESMED.

The only data that the S9 will transfer, however will be the summary data, not the detailed data. The detailed data is NOT stored on-board; it's written to the SD card each night.

Thanks robysue. Good information. (BTW, I got the naming the SD card from a comment made on a different forum posting.)
