Don't feel silly, I didn't understand it either. Nor have I ever heard anyone use this shortened version. Of course, I don't buy souvenier T-shirts (because I prefer scoop neck or v-neck tops and souvenier tees generally have high round necks) so maybe that's why I didn't make the connection. Ah well, it's good to learn something new every day.

My thought: --to wear while sleeping on a plane (hosed up)
"--or would you rather hear me snore?"

Interestingly, yesterday was also "Wife Appreciation Day".

How'd that work out for everyone?

My wife doesn't appreciate me talking like a pirate to her.
"Timing" and "Appropriateness" are certainly critical to the success of your swashbuckling adventure.

For example, if she's in the middle of something important (like laundry) and you come out with "Prepare to be boarded!", chances are pretty slim that ol' Roger is going to get much Jollier.

When i was really little we made some silkscreened shirts at school... the teacher had me put "all this and brains too" on mine. I waited til i got home to ask my parents "I don't get it, what does this sentence mean?!" In my defense, I was 5 when I started learning english, and since our household was a non-primary-English speaking household, I missed out on a lot of those "sayings". My accent is perfect yet my friends would still make fun of the way I said "iron" and "asia"... due to my enunciating every letter in the word! I guess in IN they tend to slur their words a bit .
I got the tshirt one though.
PR System One APAP, 10cm
Activa nasal mask + mouth taping w/ 3M micropore tape + Pap-cap + PADACHEEK + Pur-sleep

Maybe it's not limited to one state.
Heard in New Jersey:
jeet jet? (Did you eat yet? -- more properly: Have you eaten yet?)
no joo? (No, did you? -- more properly: No. Have you?)

Heard variously below the Mason-Dixon line.
'M finna goda Walmart. (I am fixing to go to Walmart.)
'M gona Walmart.(I am going to Walmart.)
'Mahna Walmart. (I am going to Walmart.)
'Mahna goda Walmart. (I am going to go to Walmart.)
'Uhm gunna goda th' Walmart. (I am going to go to the Walmart.)

About the only 'word' most us pronounce the same is the proprietary one.
