S9 problems

Well I got my s9 elite with iH5 with the slimline tubing and a mirage quattro full face mask and the first night wasn't bad and my ahi was 0.0 and 2.3lph leakrate then the second night I couldn't get the mask to set right and seal without tightening it as hard as I could and ended up making my ahi jump to 24.6 and the leak rate to 34lph and I noticed the hose has a leak at the end where the tube and the end are glued together -.-
I must say I am loosing allot of sleep since I'm waking up like every hour adjusting the headgear and somehow I woke up last night holding it in my hand
And I can't get my ears to quit poping out

I called my dme provider yesterday about the hose and another mask but nothing yet from them..

It seems to be a rather frequent comment in this forum that people are having trouble with one of the special hoses that go with the S9. Just an observation.....

My slimline hose lasted 2 weeks. Emailed Resmed about it. Never got a reply ( 2 months ago). Their slimline hose is a piece of sh%t and apparently they don't care. Your going to find out that their products are way over priced compared their competion. You can do like I did and wrap a piece of ( silicone tape) http://cgi.ebay.com/Self-fusing-Silicon ... 53e23afdcd around the hose and cuff where it always manages to develop a hole.

There has been way to many complaints about this for Resmed to sit on their hands and do nothing.

My DME replaced the first Slimline hose for free (It tore apart just after 90 days.)
Have they fixed the problem on the Climateline tubing yet?
I plan to get one while my insurance covers 90%.
When I pay 100%, that will be a different story.
Too bad they can expend so much energy on price-fixing and so little on quality control!

I don't believe there are nor have I seen any problems with the climate line tubing. What problem did you think needed fixing?

You could start by making the hose material out of something stronger than cellophane wrap. It's the cheapest and the most flimsy hose on the market. Plus you have the gall to charge two prices for that POS.

Many have. Right where the hose connects to the cuff. You might want to buy some silicone tape and wrap the hose-cuff connection. I was very careful with mine because I had read how easy they were to develop a hole in that location. I put my mask on one night (after only two weeks of use) and heard a loud hissing noise. A hole right next to the cuff. Sent off an email to resmed and never got a response. That really made me angry.

So I will continue to run down the slimline hose every time it is mentioned on the forum.

Resmed need to do two things with the slimline hoses

Reenforce the hose at each end at the cuff

Make an 8 foot version of both the regular and climatline hoses. They had longer hoses and settings for longer hoses in the S8 Elite machines settings, why not with the slimline.

I used the F4 tape to create to re-enforce my hoses, it creates a waterproof self seal that works well.
