I've been on a CPAP for a year or so; turns out the pressure was too low (6.x) when I needed 10.x -- in any case, since adjusting the pressure, I'm feeling a little better -- though I'm very bitter about spending many years feeling exhausted all the time. There's still a long ways to go.
After a week or so of feeling more energy, I'm starting to feel tired again, but not the "exhausted" tired -- and I wonder if my body is now just wanting to sleep, to catch up on all that it's missed.
I do have a neurologist that I'll be seeing again, etc. But sometimes it's nice to just get regular feedback from people out there who deal with this day to day in their own lives.
I also think the CPAP mask market is like buying cars! Gawd!
Thanks,
Forrest
After a sleep study, adjusting CPAP pressure
Re: After a sleep study, adjusting CPAP pressure
I think your experience is pretty common. I would suggest that you look at your sleep hygiene; make sure you are getting at least 8 hours of sleep a night. PAP therapy is not a magic pill that can erase all sleeping harm. You still have to get the right quantity of sleep of good quality. PAP therapy is part of the quality, but make sure you attend to the rest of it.
I choose, instead, to anticipate the joy of the days that lie ahead, knowing that at the very least, they are better than the days gone by. I don't think it helps me to resent what I've lost through mis-diagnosis.
I've been tired for 30 years and am still a little tired. I could certainly have a pity party in which many would join me, sorrowing over the decades I've lost. But those days are gone, and grieving them will never bring them back.forrie wrote:I'm very bitter about spending many years feeling exhausted all the time.

I rely on my nightly data to tell me if and how to tweak.
ResMed S9 range 9.8-17, RespCare Hybrid FFM
Never, never, never, never say never.

What kind of mask do you use? Is it possible you're losing the 'good' air out your mouth when sleeping?
