OT: Moving

Post by drj130 » Fri Sep 17, 2010 5:45 am

For those that know whom I am, I'm in the process of moving back to Germany. Hope that once I get back there, I'll be able to be on here more like before.

Take care and catch you all soon.

David

David,

Good luck with the move. It is good to hear from you. When you get back to Germany, perhaps you can update us on your health, how you were able to use the cpap machine, and your lovely wife.

Hey DoriC, she's doing good. I will be trying to go and see here after I get back to Germany. I should be there soon. The next fun adventure will be getting internet.

Amos, to answer your questions, my health hasn't changed much. I was able to use my CPAP machine using normal power. I did have a 12 volt care battery sitting in my room just in case we did lose power. I was working 12 hour shifts, so there were times when I fell asleep without my mask on. Oh boy could I tell the next day. I was able to get distilled water through the supply system so I was doing good on having plenty of that on hand. I went through filters like crazy there. I had to change them twice a month. I have noticed that if I fall asleep using my machine, and something happens to the power, I wake right up. On the trip back here, during one of our stop overs, I had it plugged in and someone had turned off the power strip that I was plugged into. I raised some hell over that. (darn Marines).
Had some fun with the Customs agents that searched our stuff looking for things we aren't allowed to bring back. I'd asked them about the water I was bring back with them and they told me I couldn't have more than the 3.5oz. I looked at the guy and informed him it was in a TSA approved bottle, plus I had my handy little doctor's letter saying I could have the machine and all the things that go with it. They were educated on that subject by me.

One thing that did happen is that I got a hard case for my machine. it is the 1500 series Pelican Case. I can fit everything in it that I need. 2 Masks, machine, hose, my PULSEOX in it's case, my bottle for distilled water that I got from Bret, hose, etc.

Marina is doing good. She can't wait for me to arrive in Russia. Will be spending some time with her family and some of the friends I made the first time I went there. Should be fun.
