Any suggestions for devices to keep my mouth closed other than a chin strap?

Tape is popular. Do a search here for instructions.

If you sleep on your side, take an extra pillow and cram it below your chin to keep your jaw from relaxing open.

Some people have success with an inexpensive "boil and bite" mouthgard you can buy from a sporting goods store.

Some people report success with the chin strap using a Pap Cap (google it). This is different than stand alone chin straps.

There are also some commercially made tapes that are kind of U shaped and help to keep the jaw closed if the lip seal isn't an issue. I can't remember the name of the product, but I'm sure someone else will.

Fisher and Paykel make masks that fit below the chin, if you don't mind a full face mask. You can open your mouth a little, but it doesn't go below the shelf or break the seal.

Using the Hybrid lets you keep your mouth open if you want to.
