I went to office max and bought an sd card for my S9.
I put it into the S9 ( it had no problem reading my card and went to read it on my computer with scan disk.
I told it to download detail data. Well it will give me summary only.
I want this as a back up card since Wednesday I need to mail my Resmed sd card into my DME.
Did I get summary only because I only placed this into my machine but did not turn it on?
Do I need to do something to the card before it will record?
Did I need a High def. card?

Re: New sd card for a S9
No high df. card needed. Make sure to check you download settings. Select all available data to dowload. Run your machine with the new card and the next morning you should have all the data.

Re: New sd card for a S9
The "manual" way to backup all S9 detailed data with a second card is:
1) put the new card in the S9. It shouldn't recognize it and will format it for use creating a DATALOG subdirectory on the new card, 2 identfication files, and 2 STR files.
2) enable the write protect on your RESMED card so you don't accidentally delete or "cut" the files. use your computer to access your old RESMED SD card as a portable drive. copy the DATALOG subdir and all files to your computer temporarily.
3) use your computer to access your new SD card as a portable drive. copy the DATALOG subdir/files on your computer to your new SD card. make sure you copy all the files into the DATALOG subdir on the new SD card (select replace if prompted). also make sure you don't end up with a x:\DATALOG\DATALOG subdirectory structure if you didn't copy it to the right subdir level.
4) un-write protect your original RESMED card.
5) either card should now work in your S9 and have the same exact data on them.
I've done this several times to keep all of my detailed history on the card... Good Luck!
