New here is a Resmed s9

Post by luciuswillson » Fri Sep 03, 2010 12:54 pm

I was just diagnosed on Tuesday and got my S9 on Wednesday. My first question is I had my humidifier on 3.0 and couldn't weel any warming. The past few nights I have been getting congested in the morning and thought it was the humidifier. Should I feel any heat? if there any way to see the actual temperature? My second question is a lot other machines have software so you can see your numbers. Does the s9 have this as well or do I just have to send my DME the Card every month? Thanks.

Welcome to the forum

By the way I sent to a PM regarding the software issue.

Did you get the climateline hose? if so you can run it on automatic.
Some people notice increase humidity can cause congestion. Do you know what the humidity level is inside your bedroom at night? Thats normally a good starting point.

I have never actually felt any warmth in the air from my humidifier.

Thanks for the Pm. I do not know what the humidity is in the house. I will probably just order the climate house and be done with it. Thanks for your help.

I have my humidifier set at 2. Press and hold the large button for 3 seconds and the humidifier starts the warm up process. I don't feel the heat coming through the tube but I also have problems with a dry nose and nosebleeds and was a little concerned. Haven't had any problems so I'm guessing it is working. I haven't tried the climate line tube yet.

Good luck.

My humidifier is set at 3.
If I feel the cabinet of the humidifier on the right end near the bottom--
and the warm-up bar on the display is near or at 'ready', it feels slightly warm to the touch.
Sort of like a slight to moderate fever.
Another way to check is to open the humidifier and pull out the tank.
The metal bottom should be noticeably warm unless you just barely turned it on.--don't get a burn. 8^)

You have a good machine, when you get the secret handshake (clinician manual) you can press the buttons and see what happened
on the screen in the morning..

It might depend how humid your room is..

I didnt notice much unless I cranked mine up to three and half to four.. that was during the winter, and we had some
pretty foggy evenings..

I do not use the humidfier during the summer.
