Exactly what is the software?

I received my Resmed s9 after long appointment with sleep therapist. I was taught how to do everything , along with a booklet with instructions. My setting is 6-18. The machine has a SD card that has to be sent in monthly. What is the software that everyone is mentioning and why?

The software is what the DME uses to read the card. If you have it it allows you to take charge of you own therapy and do a better job than the RT or who ever reads the card once in a while. Most of us read it every day. Lets us know what the problem areas are and what to work on to fix when we don't feel like we should.
