Like political complaints the best mehod of complaint to get attention is telephone calls refusing to hang up and droning on logically and in a civial manner; written mail and facsimile mail, in that order. Ask or write to the Pres... poop flows downhill and it will either get tossed or flow downhill, in which case it is coming from the President's office. INUNDATE them, your congressmen, and any agencies that deal with restraint of trade complaints. The more the merrier and with computers it should be quick.

Hey Slinky,

Thanks for the background summary of the equipment recall. I hadn't heard any of that before. It's always interesting to see how the stupid blunders occur, and how the corporate culture responds to it.

Along with complaining about ResMed's new policies, why not ask for the proper procedure to get a refund for your unused ResMed equipment (at MSRP)? If enough of us make such requests to the president of ResMed, our point might be made.

Sleep Well

I'm not sure what you're thinking about. Did you mean boycotts of cpap stuff?
'cause in my history book there are innumerable examples of the success of boycotts: from the boycotts of individual products to boycotts of countries.

Hello

I'm wondering if Resmed is taking similar actions toward other Auctions sites or is it just cpapauction.com only.

Ebay may be big enough to tell ResMed to take a hike!
This is nothing but SWAG (or BS, take your pick) on my part, but I don't think ResMed would win the case against an auction site which hosts gear claimed to have been "bought, but changed mind - never used"
However, the financial burden of a lawsuit would bankrupt a small operation CPAPauction while making a minor dent in ResMed's bottom line.
Ebay, on the other hand, has a bigger money flow. More significantly, Ebay would probably see "caving-in" to ResMed's demands as a precedent to encourage other companies to make such demands of Ebay's operations. Thus, I think ResMed would have a fight on their hands.
It is a sin of our justice system that the financial burden of a lawsuit (even if for a good cause) can ruin a small business.

Edit: Unfortunately it doesn't look like hardly anyone sells CPAPs on Ebay. Lots of accessories (including RedMed items), but no CPAP units. There is one used ResMed S8 Escape II someone's trying to dump (used for 30 days).
Sleep well and prosper!

I just removed the Res*%&! mask from my profile. No endorsement from me, regardless of the insignificance.

Congrats Tony, it's all the small acts that makes a difference.

If nobody do anything because it's not much we will really do nothing at all. It's not a vote who makes a president or a deputy or whatever win it's the sum of all the votes, if you say you don't vote because you have not much weight you are wrong and you have already loss.

I got a reply within days after using the contact form on the resmed web site. I contacted them about the climateline hose.

Thank you for contacting ResMed. We are aware of the leak that you have encountered. A redesign is in the works. Unfortunately I do not have any information on what has been done in particular, as this is a very recent development. Please know that ResMed as a company, places a great amount of importance on the quality of its product. Please let me know if I can be of further assistance.

eBay has banned the sale of items that require a prescription for sale. They take down auctions as they find them. Apparently, while whole masks are banned on eBay, mask parts are allowed.

One trick I have noticed a couple of sellers have used recently is to offer a mask seal for sale and to include "extras" to the winning bidder. The "extras" were the mask frame and head gear. The net result was a complete mask for sale. I don't know if it simply slipped past the Ebay police or if the strategy falls with Ebay's rules, but the auction did run to it's finish.

Personally, I'm done with this. Resmed is going to do whatever the heck it wants and we have little or no power to change it because we are like fleas on someone else's dog to them.

BUT . . .
There's there email address convention. If anyone else is interested in emailing the CEO of the company to complain directly, find out his or her name, and there you go.

The very thought of a company like RESMED to force an online auction to discontinue allowing individuals or businesses from selling their, not just new but used cpaps, sucks big time. There are many individuals who can not afford to buy new equipment.

Hey, RESMED, we have 20% unemployment right now but you to care do you. Your just going to pile on the misery, right? The people who run your company are heartless.

Remember folks, Google directs people to this forum who are searching information about cpaps and all of the brands like "RESMED". I will not have another good thing to say about them until they lift the ban.
