Question for Swift LT users

Post by JeffH » Thu Aug 26, 2010 7:47 am

Anyone have a solution for the headgear chewing on the top of the ears? Let me be more clear, where the ear mets the head at the top of the ear. I'm already using Padacheeks, so I still need ideas.

Thanks

JeffH

Hi Jeff
I just tightened the top straps. I find that they slip down very easily, so I added velcro to keep them from sliding. I only moved them up about a 1/4 inch that was enough to keep it off the top of my ears and still keep the pillows from leaking.
Cheers

I would try to readjust the headgear so that the frame is a bit closer to vertical. That should move the headgear a littler farther from the ears.

It should not be touching your ears. Check out the fitting videos at http://www.resmed.com/us/products/swift ... s&sec=true

You can keep the back strap from slipping by sewing some velcro hook tape inside that strap (UFO 13's suggestion). That should hold the headgear in the right place.

I must have a weird head....

I tightened the top strap until it pulled it up (had about 3" of extra strap on top) and it still touches where the ear and head met. I'll try this set up tonight and see if it is any better.

About once a year I get pain in this location. Been using the LT ever since it came out but there are times I'm not in love with it.

Thanks for the ideas

Mine doesn't necessarily rub against the ear and cause skin issues, but it does sometimes "touch" the ear, and just that annoys me....because I hate anything that feels restrictive, or pushes against something (like my ear).

I am wondering if our faces are too narrow? I am female and was wondering if the LT "for her" would be smaller, but I'm not sure. A lot of people have narrow faces, so I don't know why this headgear wouldn't accomodate that. Started another topic on the "for her," but haven't checked it in the past few days.
Symptoms: severe daytime sleepiness and fatigue/tiredness, oversleeping and hypersomnia, dark circles around eyes, sometimes brain fog.

Here's my discussion about the LT "for her." It looks like it would not fit any better.

However, one thing that may help, is the suggestion in my topic by someone, who said that the LT can be fit rather loosely, and still keep it's seal. It's in the bottom half of the responses. You may want to check that out...maybe just loosening the headgear (while still keeping things sealed of course) would help.

LT for HER wouldn't work for me...I'm a 230lb guy...LOL.

Well it turns out the "for her" is, in fact, the same size. So if you prefer light blue to dark blue......knock yourself out!

Hey Jeff,
If you want me to send you something to pad your ears a bit more, I would be happy to do that. You just gotta PM me with your address. I do not have a way of looking up your order with your user name.
I do not want you to have sore ears..... I can help.

A big thanks to Karen. She's fixing me up. What a asset to the cpap community!
