This just might work!

Post by Tired Linda » Fri Aug 20, 2010 9:08 am

Last night was night 4. Woke up a couple of times, but I can live with that.

I was developing a sore spot on the bottom of my nose from my nasal mask. Somewhere someone wrote about those blister patches and I happened to have some. Had to do a little custom cutting but got the spot covered and put mask on. It helped!

Also tried a different tape last night, a 2” wide breathable surgical tape. Much more comfortable than painter’s tape. Still some drool issues but I think I can work that out tonight.

Using the mask from my sleep study because it was comfortable. I didn’t pick out a new one when I got my machine just because I wanted to get used to things and see how it went. (There’s a giant note in my file that DME owes me a mask.) Made appt. to go back on Monday to try some others and see what fits.

Got my software yesterday and that’s my project for the weekend.

OMG…couldn’t figure out why boss was looking at me funny this morning. Just came back from restroom and have strap marks on my face‼! Guess I’ll have to remember to take my showers in the morning instead of before bed. (or another weekend project to make covers)

Been cruising around forum in spare time reading old posts. Ran across one the other day that hit me right between the eyes. Will do another post as soon as I have time.

Soon , no more Tired Linda Try PADACHEEKS for some snuggly strap covers to prevent the marks. PADACHEEKS is a forum member and hand makes the covers from fleece. I have two forehead protector pieces and I love them! no more marks! You can find her online store via a quick google search (I am on my mobile device and can't quite multitask right now so I can't give you the link sorry).

Linda,

That happens to just about everyone once. The strap marks are how we recognize each other. It is sort of like the secret handshake for the CPAP club.

Yes I walked the dog early one day and a neighbour pipes up and says " Oh you use cpap too. Where do you get your filters?"
