I'm old now but I'm a thin female. I suffered with sleep apnea for years before I could get a referral for a sleep study because my doctor said there was "no way" I could have OSA, being thin. I knew I had it, I finally got a dental appliance made by my dentist and that solved the problem until it wore out. At that point, I had moved, had a different doctor, and got the referral. I do feel like the dental appliance changed my bite and didn't want to go that route again.

Interesting you should bring up connective tissue disease, I do have a mild form. CTD can cause really dry tissues and the humidifier on my machine is a real godsend.
