Congratulations! Does the hotel have a website? I expect you could go there and find out what they recommend. There are probably some forum members who can answer this as well, and I expect they'll be along directly. I just wanted to chime in with my best wishes for you and your bride.

I'll add my congrats! and raise you an altitude check.
I just lost a CPAP to high altitude, so it is on my mind. The S8 has an adjustment for altitude, so that won't be a problem. If the altitude of where you are now and Aruba is the same, then no worries.
I hope you both have a great time!

I just checked a site for Aruba and their forum says the electrical is the same as the US/Canada.

nosenabook: Providence, RI and Aruba are both very close (+/- a couple of hundred feet) to sea level.

FYI: Most machines (including your ResMed S8) will operate on 120 or 220 V AC without any electrical converters. Depending on the configuration of the outlets at your destination, you may need an adapter to make your plug fit into the outlet.

It's always a good idea to take along an extension cord, some of those hotel plugs are in the darnest places!

Congrats and have fun!!

hey, thanks for the congrats guys, and the good advice.
yes, rhode island is more or less at sea level and aruba is as well (well at least my hotel which is on the beach, lol).

any idea what one of those converters costs?

A quick google shows that Aruba is the same as US / Canada - 120V, 60Hz and the same plug. You should be good to go.

Enjoy!

Congratulations!! Aruba is on my list of islands to visit. As a cruiser I need to select a ship that oes there. Sooner or later I wil get there. I hope that you and your bride have a wonderful trip and a long blissful life together.

I'm actually a cruiser as well, and a few years back visited aruba on a royal carribean cruise just for one day. my fiance loves it there, so now we're returning for the week!
