For what it's worth, ResMed.com site shows tubing dark gray with orange insides. It looks exactly like the one I just got from CPAP.com with a new S9 unit.

So, no guarantees, I think I'll stick with my original plan--Brownies!

The Climate Line does have an orange colored part and a piece at the end that you twist into the special connector on the humidifier, the one that's normally covered with a little cap. It is a slightly darker gray overall, and you can see the very dark gray wire coiled inside the tube. I also found the material of the tube to be a bit thinner than the original tube.
I read the same directions about not covering it with a wrap, as this makes it less able to adjust to the ambient temperature.

The S9 Senior Product Manager of Resmed in San Diego was made aware of this ClimateLine topic and responded, "I'm not aware of any changes. They may have made some molding changes with the new equipment, but I haven't heard of any actual changes."

Re: ClimateLine Hose how to tell "Original" vs "Improved" Model
Hi all,
I called CPAP.com this am and was told that they didn't have any info from Resmed about the tubings being changed out. I suppose this means that I got an "old style" tubing with the S9 last week. It seems that if they are changing them they aren't changing them drastically.

So maybe I should just save my money and put a snuggy on my slimline.
I've already got vetwrap around the places where the first one tore.

And purchase a ReptiCable for around $15 should you feel you need some heat.chunkyfrog wrote:So maybe I should just save my money and put a snuggy on my slimline.

Re: ClimateLine Hose how to tell "Original" vs "Improved" Model
oh, oh, oh,
I just went to CPAP.com and clicked on the section for just buying climateline tubing. It looks different than mine. No orange on the inside and the ends are exactly the same, like the slimline tubing. The tubing looks lighter. Mine has a special end, it has to lock on so one end doesn't look the same as the other. The end shaped different. Maybe that's the difference?
Shar:)
Update, I'm sorry, my bad.... I was looking at plain slimline tubing. shoot!!!

I've recommended that several times. Each time someone responds with why that is not a good idea and why the uber expensive solution is peachy. I've stopped recommending it, but I haven't stopped using it.
I'm debating on whether or not to buy the matching rheostat for about the same price. That would REALLY give me all the control I need.
