No... I think the S9 is very solid. Some have expressed concerns about the humidifier door "feeling" flimsey, but I have yet to hear anyone report a real issue with it. The machine is lighter because it has a power brick, so that is external to the machine itself, so I think that also contributes to this perception.Boston Guy wrote:I have been hearing how the s8's are built solid, should I take this to mean the s9's are less solid?

I think you stand a good chance of being impressed by the S9, it is a very nice machine.
I sent you a PM with some things to get you started with the S9

Yes, I agree. The S9 is lighter, but I'm not sure this makes it flimsy.jmelby wrote:No... I think the S9 is very solid. Based on my experience with electronics over 30 years, yes, the S9 is less robust than the S8 series when connecting the humidifier. Having said that, I don't think I'm going to bust it anytime soon. It is lighter and strong enough for its intended purpose to be sure. And it has sufficient additional benefits to make it a worthwhile investment should you have the money or be able to get the insurance company to foot the bill. Otherwise I strongly recommend at least looking at the S8 Autoset II. I love my S9 Auto.
