Mark,
Just last week I also canned my local DME and went with BMI. You will find Bonnie to be exceptional! If my doctor had sent all the necessary PAPerwork (or is that CPAPerwork?) when asked, the whole process from initial contact to delivery of the equipment could have been less than 48 hours. As it was I contacted BMI via the on-line form on Monday and I had my equipment that Friday - that's less than 5 working days. Not too bad. I should add however that I did pay the extra for overnight air, instead of waiting for UPS Ground.
Good luck, your adventure begins! I just completed my 6th night and I feel the best today I have in years. Kind of waiting to see if the bubble breaks but so far so good and it is definitely worth it!

UPDATE 2
Received my updated prescription, called my insurance again to verify my coverage if I use CPAP.com (the agent logged onto CPAP.com while on the phone with me) and she told me go ahead and order it directly then file the proper claim form and they will reimburse me!!!! I said can you put that in writing!!! She said "no I cant, but everything I just told you about your coverage and reimbursement is noted in your file here".
ORDER PLACED WITH CPAP.com!!
Remstar Auto with C-Flex and humidifier
Mirage Swift Mask
Encore Pro Software
Paid extra for overnight shipping....that way I will have it tomorrow so I can 'get acquainted' with my 'new friend' over the weekend!!

Hi Mark83,
I believe what you have done and what you have ordered is excellent!
You're last post indicates to me that you are quite excited about all this, Kind of like an early Christmas present or birthday present. But I think you need to temper this a little as reality has a strong grasp. I do not know the statistics but have the impression many people do not comply with their treatment due to a number of factors - perhaps because it interferes with what once was a normal lifestyle, especially concerning bedtime activities.
One has to understand this is lifestyle invasive treatment for a serious health problem. It's not the same as an operation or taking a pill and the problem is fixed. It's a clumsy kind of treatment that many have difficulty keeping up with. You need to get the right mind set from the beginning and have the perseverance to continue. It ain't great, but it works. And right now it's the best treatment we have.
So I just wanted to wish you well but not really rain on your parade. I too was excited when I first got my equipment, same as yours except for the mask, and made up my mind from the outset that no matter what I would stick with it. After a while it will become part of your life, become second nature and you won't want to do without it. So grin and bear it!
All the best,
Bob F

EQUIPMENT ARRIVED TODAY
I came home from work to find a package on my front steps! I am an Engineer, and as such I read all the instructions cover to cover three times! I have the Swift so I wanted to get 'situated' with this first. I tried the medium and large pillows. First 'gut' feeling is the larger ones felt more comfortable because it seemed easier to exhale with that size. So I will try them my first night. I have to laugh because at first I had the mask strapped on like a football helmet and I was thinking this isn't going to work!! But after playing around for an hour and continually loosening the straps (connected to the machine with my set 14 pressure blowing) I actually found that I had a good seal with the straps 'fairly' loose and so far it seems comfortable. I am able to exhale comfortably but it seems that there is a fairly steady air stream coming out of the vent holes in front of the pillows. I must assume this is normal??
Here is my first question.....I did get the Remstar Auto but should I 'start' at first with my machine set in the CPAP w/c-flex mode instead of the Auto mode until I get comfortable with things then change over to the Auto mode?
Also any advice for a first time user would be appreciated.
Thanks
