I had the procedure done about 8 years ago. The procedure itself was not bad, but I had terrible problems with bleeding - had to go to the ER so he could fix it up with some wire patches.

After it healed, I noticed no more colds, but no change in snoring.

Of course - I then broke my nose again 2 years after I had it done....So much for that.

I think how much it hurts is in large part a function of whether they use packing/splints vs. none. I had none and it was a breeze. Course I also had a tonsillectomy at the same time, so perhaps that distracted me from nasal pain, but I really did not think it was very painful at all.

I had a septoplasty and turbinate reducation 4 weeks ago. It was the worst sinus headache one could imagine for a couple of days. Once the packing was removed - a painfully weird sensation that took ~10 seconds per side - it was an easy trip to today. I don't remember ever breathing so freely, and equally from both sides.

So far, though, my cpap therapy numbers have not really changed, AHI is about the same. One improvement is I spend more time at my minimum pressure and less at my max pressure, so perhaps a reduction is in order.
