S9 stoppped recording?
S9 stoppped recording?
Hi all, I was wondering if anyone ever had a problem with their Resmed S9 not recording to the memory card?
I have had no problems downloading my data until yesterday. The memory card was missing the previous two nights of data. Everything else was present and intact. I checked the capacity of the memory card and it is no where close to being full (only 35meg out of 950meg used).. and when I insert the card into the machine it says reading SD card.
Anyone else experience this?

I am not sure why you card would stop recording. You may want to reformat the card and then put it in the S9 let it up date and try again.
mostly this is a bump to keep you on the list so dave or some one that has had tese issues may chime in
Chris
I watching as I too have the S9 want to learn through others

Are you sure that you chose "Discard" when given the choice in ResScan when DL'ing... ???
The software will over-write the date with just Summary data if you choose "Overwrite".
If you "Save" more than once during the 24 hr day ending at 12 noon... then you will lose new data for the same day.
If your S9 reports "Data Reading" when loading the SD card then the card should be OK...
It holds only 7 days of Detailed data then it will begin to overwrite itself.

Re: S9 stoppped recording?
I just checked it again and now those two missing days are showing up but only with summary data. So I must have done something screwy when downloading or maybe didn't have it in the machine right.
So I should choose "Discard" instead of "Overwrite"?
and Thanks for the tip about saving more than once in a 24 hour period. I will keep that in mind too!

Re: S9 stoppped recording?
Is it possible that the SD card was not fully inserted during the two nights in question?
I have a similar situation when my ResLink module is not fully inserted into my S8 AutoSet II. Initially there is not data for the night in question. But after reinserting the ResLink and card into the machine it writes the summary data from its memory to the card. (The machine does not have the detail data in its memory.) The next time I do an upload, the summary data for the missing night appears in ResScan.
A strategically placed rubber band is now preventing that from reoccurring.

Always use "Discard" and that shouldn't happen again... you will not be able to retrieve what you've lost. Re: S9 stoppped recording?
I'm a bit confused. The data card stores summary and detail data for many months (years). The download (which is really an upload) only transfers data from the card to the PC's hard drive. So even if a second download caused the software to replace detail data with only summary data (and I'm not sure why anyone would program it to do that), the detail data should still be on the card.

It's also helpful to lock the SD card itself so Windows doesn't do any futzing with it. Personally I only need to do reads from the computer, and I can reformat the card when I put it back in the machine. YMMV

You're thinking about the S8...jdm2857 wrote:I'm a bit confused. The data card stores summary and detail data for many months (years). The S9 is different and does not store detailed data in the machine... only on the SD card and only 7 days worth (it can really do 8 days on the SD card only)
