Thank, WillSucceed, I can imagine it exactly, and wrapping the rubber end in plastic is a brilliant idea!

We're on 5 nights and no perceivable rainout using this cover. Just for the record, I used scotch tape around the rubber end to make it slippery and go through the cloth tube.
