Dreams of choking

Post by Mebake » Wed Jun 16, 2010 10:25 am

I have this reoccurring dream of choking in my nasal pillows and wake up and have a choking sensation. After a moment of panic I relies it is not possible to choke on your mask and I am wondering if anybody has any trouble with this? I have recently started looking at my data and really can’t find a correlation with the events. Also can I get some ideas about how to interpret data? Maybe a book or web site. I have lots of questions 1 comes to mind – Flow on the graph does that represent breaths in and out?

What EPR setting are you using? EPR drops your pressure (in centimeters) on exhale by the amount of the setting.
Beyond that, I would suspect you're losing your therapy air out your mouth. (or a combination of these)

Den
(5) REMstar Autos w/C-Flex & (6) REMstar Pro 2 CPAPs w/C-Flex - Pressure Setting = 14 cm.
"Passover" Humidification - ResMed Ultra Mirage FF - Encore Pro w/Card Reader & MyEncore software - Chiroflow pillow

I will change the EPR I have it set at the highest for the S9 of 3. I only have it 2 times a month or so

One night I had a dream that my mouth was bubbling and frothing. I woke up on my back with my mouth wide open, so of course there was air going right out of my mouth, bubbling at the back of my throat.

During my sleep study, I had a dream of choking. In the dream, I was in bed and sat up and tried to get assistance from someone and couldn't make any noises to get their attention.
Need to restart BiPAP therapy, never got adjusted enough. ResMed VPAP Auto with H3i humidifier, Mirage Quattro Full Face mask, ResScan 3.5. On paper, my Dx is OSAS, but it's probably UARS. Reduced amount of REM. Titrated at very low I/E pressures.
