Hi,
I have been using a Philips BluLight for about 2 years now and don't think I would go without it. I am a respiratory therapist and set up CPAP machines but don't have sleep apnea (not bad enough for CPAP use anyway). I was very surprised about how much of a benefit I received from the light. I got one at a medical conference. Since then I have purchased another to put at work for days that I am running late and don't have time to use first thing in the morning. I use it every morning when I first wake up or when I first get to work. Instead of being a zombie for the first few hours after waking, I feel awake immediately after using the light. I have only went without the light a few days since receiving it. I thought so much about it that I bought several for my friends and family. Most of them thought I was crazy, but the ones that used it got a benefit too.
My wife's issue is exactly the opposite as mine. I can go to sleep immediately and just have issues waking up. She has problems going to sleep but wakes up and hits the ground running. She uses the light in the evenings and it helps her wind down so she is ready to go to sleep at a certain time. You can also use it to help get acclimated to time changes when traveling. (I take mine when I travel whether there is a time change or not just to wake my lazy butt up).
If you have any issues with getting to sleep or waking up (probably most people with sleep apnea), this may help in conjunction with your CPAP. It might be worth checking out. I would start with http://www.golite.philips.com/ and take their circadian rhythm test to see when to use the light and read up on it. There are also several sites about older versions that are much cheaper at http://www.apollo-health.co.uk/request- ... alogue.pdf. You can buy them several places as well as my site http://www.pulseoxstore.com. I know that after reading all of this I just want you to buy one from me. Well of course, but I don't think as many people are discussing light therapy and the word needs to get out. So whether you buy one from me or anyone else, I hope you get the same benefit I have received.
Oh, by the way, why does spellcheck on here pull up CPAP as a misspelled word? I just thought that was kinda funny.
