Burning lips

Post by KarenLou » Fri Jun 04, 2010 7:17 pm

Hi, this is my first post here. I am a new cpap user, have been on this machine for about 6 weeks. I wear a full face mask. The past few days my lips have been burning, and it hurts alot. Even hurts to put chapstick on so I switched to vaseline lip therapy stuff. I am thinking this might possibly be caused from the air blowing in my face all night? Nothing else has changed in my daily routine except the cpap machine being used. Is this a normal side effect? Thanks.

The moving air can cause your lips to chap, or you might be sensitive to the mask or the cleaning products you use. Is the new lip goo helping?

What mask do you have? What pressure is your machine set to? What about the humidifier?
