Easylife Mask loud for High Pressure?

Post by Halo242 » Thu Jun 03, 2010 10:10 am

Hi,
new to this forum. Ive had a Resmed S7 and been using the ulatra mirage 2 for quite a few years now.
Yesterday i updated my gear and I got a S9 and the technician brought me a new gel mask to try as I used a gel mask during a recent sleep study.
I tested with the Resmed gel mask but the tech brought me a repironics Easylife mask. It seemed ok when i tried it, Last night I used it for the first tim I could barely sleep half the night. It was SOOO noisey. My pressure is set to 16 so i know its a bit high and Im using the S9 with he humidifier atachment. Has anyone else experienced this combination and was it loud for you..One thing is I cant take is loud masks, The ultra mirage was always relatively quiet.

I used the easylife for about 4 wks before switching to nasal pillows, at apap range of 9-12. The reason it might sound loud to you is the exhalation port is up by the nose bridge, pointed out/up, as opposed to some older models that exhale via intake tube and down? "Loud" is relatively, it didn't disturb me once I got used to the sound.
