My S9 just crapped out

Post by PetrusKy » Tue Jun 01, 2010 1:36 pm

Well it worked for 25 days and then bit the dust. When I hit the On button, it just blows wide open and non-stop. ResMed said some kind of sensor failed - no kidding. Anyway, my online dealer will send a replacement overnight. It will cost me $45 for shipping and tonight will be a long one with no machine.

Sorry to hear that and hope tonight will not be too bad. If you can, look for a backup machine. That was always my worry until I purchased a gently used one from a forum member.

Isn't the S9 still under warranty?

The machine itself is covered by a 2 year warranty if purchased from an authorized on line dealer. Its always handy to have a backup around, even more so if your insurance has a 5 year replacement time.

When i had my climate line hose replaced under warranty they shipped it UPS ground for free and return shipping was free also.

So if it's under warranty, why would he have to pay shipping?? The shipping should be covered under the warranty as well.

Due to the valve system on all ffm's, the machine will not work on the ffm setting with autostart and is unsafe to do so (according to Resmed head office).
Holy cow, that's exactly what happened! Everything was fine until I bought a FFM and tried it. It did not work and fried the machine at the same time. I never suspected the mask because there was no mention of this anywhere. Heck, the machine even has "Full Face" as a choice for mask type. Funny the ResMed dudes didn't even ask me about this when I talked to them.

The free shipping would take 5 days to get here. I paid extra to have it tomorrow.

Time frame is irrelevant, if it's under warranty it should be replaced at the soonest possible tiem regardless of the cost of shiping.

YOU the consumer should not be expected to pay shipping so that you can get a warranty replacement of a critical medical device when you need it.

This situation is just plain silly.
