I love the Sleepweaver.
I needed a nasal mask because of the soreness I was getting from nasal pillow masks: Swift II, Opus 360, comfort curve, Swift FX, Swift LT, Swift LT for Her and the list goes on. Hence my hunt for my ideal nasal mask. I found I could not tolerate any of the rigid nasal masks even with the silicone (ie: the Mirage Vista) as my face is very sensitive to even softer plastic pressure.
Seeing the Sleepweaver and reading the comments on this and other sites, I decided to try it.
SIDE AND STOMACH SLEEPERS: I am pleasantly surprised. The little cloth Zephyr seal actually seals as the cloth nose portion inflates. If you lay on your side or stomach, it still works well. I use a very lightly stuffed "moldable" primaloft pillow.
EXPIRATORY VENTING: I can feel a quiet expiratory vent , but can't see it. The brochure says that it's tiny pin holes
LEAKING: The leaking is sporadic and infrequent: much less than the Swift II and Swift FX and a tad more than the Swift LT for Her, but is not loud and does not disturb my husband's sleep, which helps me sleep through the night.
It seems to control its minimal leaking if it hangs downward. I had to take my hose out of its overhead routing. I haven't been getting tangled up in the hose , either, as I did with the other masks.
PRESSURE VARIATIONS: I have found my APAP pressures to be considerably less: 9-11 cm H2o with the Swift II. For the week I've been using the sleepweaver, I am averaging 8.3 cm h2o to 8.7cm h2o pressures. 8cm H2o was my titrated pressure in my sleep study. I see on the packaging instructions that it has been tested from 4cm h2o to 20 cm h2o.
CLAUSTROPHOBIA FACTOR: It's a bit claustrophobic, but , then, I am used to minimally claustrophobic nasal cushion masks ie: the Swift FX.
ADJUSTMENT: there are only 2 adjustments: the up and down and side to side. Adjusting each, depending where the leaks are side or top/ bottom is an easy way to do it. In fitting make sure you have the mask on and pressure coming through it. I have noticed that I occasionally need to pull it down (in direction of my feet) to better center it over my nose and stop eye side leaks mid night. It's amazing how the mechanics of the mask hold it against your face (inflation). I don't think it would work as well with facial hair.
CARE OF MASK: I just wash the whole thing in mild soapy water, rinse, towel dry excess water and air dry it: no need to disassemble. I see on the instructions that it can be multiple patient reuse (as in sleep study clinics): it needs Control III solution cleaning followed with machine washing in this case.
MY RATING: I would rate the Sleepweaver at a 5/5. I originally purchased this for relief from nasal pillow induced soreness, but may make this my primary mask.
Overall , I'm happy with it.

Wow! Sounds like it might be a great mask, but hey are pricey for a hunk of material made into a mask. I like the fact that they come in diffrent colors. . Enjoy, huggies, Fay
