from what I'm told, the only differences between Pro and Viewer are as follows:
1.) Allows you to set a "perscription"
2.) Saves the data in a database so that Encore Pro Analyzer "might" work. Currently doesn't work on the PR1 machines.

Re: Please tell me it's going to be OK!
Thank you cflame1. I found some screenshots of the pro software and there doesn't seem to be a difference so I'll just stick with what I have.
It doesn't seem that any patterns are developing anyway. The last two nights have been much better on the AHI. I finished my first week with a 7.7 for the week. If I did my math right that's 3000 fewer apneas and hypopneas than I would have had if the 65 AHI from my sleep study held through the hours I slept this week. Not bad for a first week.
I am waking feeling refreshed. For as long as I can remember I've loved my snooze button and it seems to have disappeared on me so that's a good sign. I had a long boring drive yesterday and didn't have to stop for coffee even once. My wit even seems quicker...I really wasn't expecting to see these improvements. The main thing is that my blood pressure does seem to be improving a lot. If CPAP does nothing else I'll be happy for that.
No complaints about the mask or machine yet. I'm guessing that's a sign I was ready for it. This forum ROCKS and I hate to think of where I would be without the encouragement and advice.

Re: Please tell me it's going to be OK!
Hello my hosehead friends! I just wanted to drop in and let you all know how my story turned out. I took to cpap like a fish to water. I really wish it was so easy for everyone and will keep a part of my prayers dedicated to anyone having problems with it. The wedding went off without any problems and my wife and I are almost ready to celebrate two weeks of bliss. She is happier with my cpap than I am and tells me I rarely even turn over in my sleep now much less jump and gasp. She reports a few gentle snores that don't bother her at all.
To everyone here who helped me get past my initial doubts and fears THANK YOU once again. For everyone just starting this journey, best of luck and just stick with it, ask questions and be determined! REST WELL EVERYONE! snips.

Same here...just now saw it and read it through. Snips, you should be the poster guy for what echo said: "self-education and advocacy, perseverance, and success!!"echo wrote:Just caught this thread today. What a GREAT story of self-education and advocacy, perseverance, and success!!
You went about it right, and you wrote a super interesting account of what happened right from the beginning. Your story can help a lot of others who are just getting started or soon will be. Thanks for posting it.
Hope you and your wife enjoy many, many decades of happiness and good health -- largely due to what you've done for yourself to get good-breathin' sleep!
