AEIOMed has dropped the Aura name, that line is now called Everest. Is someone else in the hosehead world using the name Aura?

Thanks nosbig17,
I've been trying to insert this into threads and have not received one response. The funny thing is that the name of the aura nasal interface which we all refer to as "the aura" is now officially called "headrest with nasal seal"

I've been playing catch-up on reading the past week's posts. The more I read about the new names for Aeiomed's machine and interface, the sillier both names sound. Such a shame, as the interface formerly known as the Aura is such a good mask. But now it's saddled with a ridiculous name - "Headrest with nasal seal." Very, very poor marketing idea, imho.
Can you imagine someone asking a local DME if they carry a "Headrest with nasal seal"? ROTFL!!! The DME (never one to be up on the latest equipment) will condescendingly think the person is such a cpap beginner that the person is saying "headrest" meaning headgear. And "nasal seal" could mean anything to a DME. They'll say, "Oh yes, we have those..." and trot out their usual stuff. Most of them had never seen or heard of an Aura, back when it was the Aura. LOL!
The machine's new name (Everest) already conjures up thoughts of air-starving high altitudes.
The mask's new name (Headrest blah blah) brings to my mind an unwelcome vision of a gravestone marker. Geeze.
I think I'll just go back to recommending the Swift -- which I don't even particularly like -- and the Breeze, which I do.
I still like the "whatever-we're-gonna-call-it-now", the best.

RG,
Thanks for the commentary. I've felt alone in the wilderness on this one for the last few days. (Sorry to all on the forum who showed some interest in this absurd topic).
To me this makes it crystal clear that the mfgs are marketing to ONLY the DMEs and Sleep Lab folks. RG, you are right about asking a DME for "headrest blah -blah" and getting scowels, but also think about how we are to refer to these amongst ourselves. By nature this whole cpap thing is VERY geeky to those not involved but if we are found to be lavishing praise on "headrest with nasal seal" we will be looked at as getting excited about the latest and greatest pocket protector. LOL!
Why don't these companies put their money and effort into putting features in their machines that real users need (like a heated hose) and skip continually rethinking their marketing strategy.
We were told that AEIOMed was "too busy" trying to get their machine on the market to develop the small and XL nasal seals or reconfiguire the headgear for all the "less than large" heads out there. Obviously they were just too busy brainstorming new names for the whole product line... probably running them past their favorite DME to see which one was preferred .
It's all endlessly frustrating.
