I am very excited as I just got a call that the hospital sleep center has had a cancellation and I will be going in tonight. (I am being bumped up in the cue due to a upcoming heart procedure.)They will be doing taking oximetry data as well.
Background on me: I have a severe heart arrhythmia/tachycardia (24/7/365 for 7 years) that generally prevents me from sleeping on my back. Since figuring out that I have sleep apnea I've been using a chin strap which has helped my apnea symptoms a lot but not eliminated them. I might take it in with me, but thought that I wouldn't wear it as I want to see what happens without any aid.
Is there any advice, anything I should know, or info/procedures to request during this study.
I figure that most of you have been there and can give some practical tips.
Thanks

Re: Sleep Study Tonight Any Advice
Congratulations on getting your sleep study done! Some things to keep in mind: First off, relax! You're on the road to feeling better! Second, they hook you up to lots of wires, so don't expect that you'll have optimum sleep. That said, you'll probably sleep more than you think you will--at least enough for them to get the data they need. Good luck, and let us know how things go!
