AHI reducing. Why?

Post by Starlette » Sun May 16, 2010 2:06 pm

Hi all.

I got my new CPAP March 17 and just recently seen my AHI dipping into the 1's.

2 nights ago = 1.9
last night = 1.7

I am very joyous!!! Question, am I doing something right to cause this? What's finally happening?

How do you feel? Those 1.9 and 1.7 AHIs are excellent! But it is how you are feeling that tell the rest of the story. I'd be willing to take a guess that you have your mask and mouth leaks under control plus you are getting more comfortable w/your mask and PAP therapy.

Starlette,
SHHHHHHH! Don't say this out loud! You'll tip 'em off and they'll come back!
Glad it's happening for you. I have no clue as to why, other than your therapy's working! Enjoy!

Great report! I think you've probably got your pressure and leaks right and as an observer of my husband's sleeping pattern I can tell that his breathing has become much quieter and his restlessness has disappeared.

I guess I was thinking that my "sleep dept" had been met, and this was my body's way of saying I can begin to get the needed healing sleep that my body so deserves. You asked how I'm feeling? Pretty good. If I take a 45 minute nap in the late afternoon, I'm good til bedtime.

Happy to hear you are doing so well.

I also have been getting great numbers in the last week.

I have been working on trying to improve my sleeping habits. I think those efforts are starting to pay off.
