Remstar pro c-flex + help please
Remstar pro c-flex + help please
Hello
I have a Remstar Pro C-flex + which is set to 12, which is too low for me.
It only has a ramp button and a rotating wheel/knob
How do i get into the set up menu to increase it?
I rented a machine before getting this one on the health service, and i needed a higher pressure. Since getting this machine i've found i've found my mood and energy progressively getting worse and worse.
Any help would be appreciated
Thanks
chris

I strongly recommend you not start changing your pressure at random. Unfortunately, the Pro model does not provide the data you need to make informed decisions.
Yes, I'm sure you can find the clinician manual online and figure out how to make changes, but I think it would be grossly irresponsible for anyone here to assist you with your dangerous request.

The OSA patient died quietly in his sleep.

Hello LinkC
Thank you for your reply.
Please could you explain why you feel that increasing my pressure would be dangerous? I am new to CPAP, so if there are risks, I am unaware and would be grateful if you could explain?
Kindest regards
Chris

Have you been titrated by the health services? If so what pressure did they order?
I assume you have the new PR1 Pro. It does have data but one really needs to get the software to examine the whole data not just the LED information before embarking on changing pressures.

Hello Jules
The first week they gave me an "APAP" which the highest it went to was 13 or 14 - i can't remember now. They decided to set it at a slightly lower pressure than the maximum the apap used since it only went to that highest pressure on one night, briefly.
i have had the pressure upped by the clinic again once, and they seem ok with this, it's just a long drive that's all. Guessing by the posts on here that no one will believe this, but the clinic pretty much just said that sure, i could get the pressure upped again if i didn't feel it was high enough. They did not advise me against having it too high or did not say there were problems with having it too high, they just did not give me the info on how to do it.

the instructions for the pressure change on the PR1 APAP have been recently posted on another thread - I assume your machine is similar and this post will get you there eventually

however, be careful
some ppl get more events at higher pressure (like me)

They undoubtedly set it for the 90% pressure (the pressure you spent 90% of the night at or below). It was not an arbitrary value.
The idea is to use the lowest pressure which will minimize apnea events. Higher-than-necessary pressure can induce central apneas in patients subject to centrals. Without data, you won't know that's happening. But your body will.
Increased pressure will exacerbate aeropaghia, poor sleep, and is harder on your lungs.
Making pressure changes (either direction) without data is like parallel parking with a blindfold on. It probably won't kill you immediately, but you'll regret it eventually.

Chris has data and is aware of it. He does need to get software and I am sure he will be looking for it.
