I just read on the talkaboutsleep boards the transcript from a guy who works for ResMed and they reccommend replacing your mask every 4-6 months??? Is it just me or is that reccommendation motivated by increasing sales? I would think my mask would last for years. Maybe replace the face cushion every now and then if it gets flimsy but the rest of it shouldn't need replacement THAT often!
How often have you all found that you need to replace your masks?
Frequency of mask replacement
Facial oils seem to slowly eat away at the soft material used to make Cpap masks. My first mask (Mirage Ultra from ResMed) lasted for nearly 3 years. I washed it everynight with Ivory hand soap. Some people routinely change masks every 6 months. YES ....it could be a money ploy but I think it depends on the indivdual. Now.....I use the Activa from ResMed. I noticed after about 7 months it started having some very small leaks.......so I ordered a new cushion. It's just like new !!!
