Sleeping with blanket over my head?

Post by Boise » Fri Dec 30, 2011 8:10 pm

Thank you all so much for your posts! I am rather new to CPAP, but wonder: if the vent holes become blocked by the blanket, will CO2 build up? It stands to reason that it would, but my brother(also on CPAP) says a blanket over your head should make no difference. I suspect that this happened to me last night, and I awoke with a headache and feeling like I had not slept well at all. Had a terrible day

A blanket over your head, as long as it is not plastic, won't harm anything. If it makes you more comfortable, do it.

Thanks for your reply HoseCrusher! I will see how tonight goes. So far with CPAP, every night is something new. I have had multiple issues, but feel like I am making progress. At least I have a mask now that works for me! It is the ResMed Quattro FX full face mask, and it does not leave sores on the bridge of my nose

I've done this numerous times, and never have a problem. I would not advise doing it if you are expecting severe weather with a power loss. If you live where there's a lot of severe weather, or your power browns out and/or blinks a lot, consider investing in a battery backup, or UPS.
