Encore 2 - Let's Start From the Beginning

Post by Starlette » Sun May 09, 2010 12:45 am

Hi all.

I've now got the Encore 2 and am having issues getting it to work. So as not to confuse anyone, I'm going to pretend like I'm a newbie at this and start from the beginning. QUESTION: What are the steps to installing the program? When do I put my SD Card in to be read?

Thank you all.

Starlette

PS - I haven't logged into the forum in quite a while. I miss you all. Life has taken for the worse with my family (specifically my Dad), so all eyes have been on him lately.

I'm sorry your father is not doing well, Starlette.

Assuming you are talking about EncorePro 2.2. Rots o ruck. Its a b*tch to get installed. At least it was w/my Win XP. And once you get it installed its not the friendliest software to use.

Gimme good ole ResScan for the Resmeds any day!!!!

The only problem that I had installing it was when I tried to do it on my x64 bit laptop. It will not work on x64. However, when I installed it on my x32 Vista laptop it was fine. I don't find it that hard to use either, but I have never seen any other, so I can't compare.

Just checked. My laptop is 64 bit. Sooooo, this means I'm S.O.L.?

Encore Pro 2 won't work with 64 bit machines but now that they have come out with Encore Viewer 2.0 some have figured out how to make it work on 64 bit machines. You might want to read this post:

Encore Viewer 2.0...

We have worked out the install on 64 bit systems. There are several ways to do it. BlakePro figured out that you can install it on a 32 bit system and then move the installed files over to the 64 bit system. Obviously this requires you to have access to a 32 bit computer...

Other than that, there are several possible solutions. It is highly dependent on exactly which operating system you have. If you're on 64 bit it will be either Vista or Windows 7. I then need to know which edition you're using (Home, Professional, Ultimate, Starter, etc).

I'll be happy to help walk you through it. Feel free to PM me if you'd like. Not sure if it would be helpful to anyone else for this to play out here, since the solutions are so very different for each system... I'll leave that up to you.

However, if it's Encore Pro, I'm not sure how to help... I've simply never played with it... But I'll be happy to try!

Oh, and don't worry about the card reader until you have the program installed. You need the reader to read data, but not to install the application.

I'll have my husband review this thread. He's the computer geek.

Thank you.
