Newest SPO2 Review software for CMS -50's

Post by Arizona-Willie » Fri May 07, 2010 5:34 pm

I emailed the Contec people and asked them about the latest version of the software.
They sent me the latest version 1 rc2.
It has blips showing where each desat occured now but, unfortunately, they have changed what they count as desats it seems.

They used to count if the O2 went below the critical point which is set at 88 ( but changeable ). That is still in the setup but now they count anytime the O2 drops 4% for 10 seconds which results in a much much higher count for desats. If you're at 95 and drop to 90 it counts as a desat, if you were at 97 and dropped to 93 they call that a desat even though you are well above 90 or the critical 88.

If you want to check out the latest ( and then give 'em feedback ) here's the email.

I went to their website and it appears they have replaced the CMS50F with a 50-I version. Looks a bit different.

Here is their website but I don't know if we could purchase directly from them. Didn't dig that deep.

Isn't that the criteria used to define an apnea??

Thanks for the heads-up, Willie.
