Radiofrequency coblation of turbanates

Post by garyland » Mon May 03, 2010 6:45 pm

I was wondering if anyone out there has had the Radiofrequency coblation of turbanates. I believe it is the quick in office procedure. Did it work for you? How long did the relief last? Where you able to breathe ok right away?

Thanks,
Gary

I had the Submucous Resection (SMR) of the turbinates done last december. That worked awesome!! As far as the radio frequency, I think its only temporary and you have to keep going in after so many years. SMR is permanent but is done with anesthesia.

Radiofrequency... done in the doc's office... has been great for me.

Normally I'd be sneezing and sniffling by now with my allergies. Not so much and I know the pollen's been bad this year.

Cflame,

Forgive me. I am not interested in your sneezing or sniffling as I don't have allergies. I just have swollen turbinates. How is your ability to breathe at night? Has your ability to breathe remained good over these last 5 months or is it reverting to the way it was? Were you able to breathe thru your nose that first night?

Thanks,
Gary

Gary... you didn't listen in Feb and you aren't listening now... don't know why I bothered answering.

The reason I asked again is because I read on the net that the effects of this procedure do not last long. So I wanted to know if you were still receiving benefit from the procedure. Also, I thought someone may have had that procedure done since Feb. Sorry if I bothered you.
