Here's another study:

Searing DA, Zhang Y, Murphy JR, Hauk PJ, Goleva E, Leung DYM. Decreased serum vitamin D levels in children with asthma are associated with increased corticosteroid use. Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology 2010 May;125(5):995-1000.

I think we can consider that the "increased corticosteroid use" referenced in this article to imply that the asthma was harder to control.

Interesting that this is one of the discussions today as I just got back from my yearly physical and my Vitamin D numbers are still too low. ( 36) I have been taking 2,000 units daily for 6 months now and was taking 1,000 before that. My Dr. said to double my dosage, but did not order a blood test for another 6months.

I will address the theory that if you are deficient you get sick more often..well, so very not true in my case! My husband gets colds and sinus infections at a rate of at least 4 a winter and I only got one..and that was one from myt grandkids. Apparently I am immune to my hubby but not the grandkids.

Does anyone that has been diagnosed as deficient have any physical symptoms that they can attribute to the deficiency? Did anything improve when your numbers went up?

Has his vitamin D level been checked?
Rooster
I have a vision that we will figure out an easy way to ensure that children develop wide, deep, healthy and attractive jaws and then obstructive sleep apnea becomes an obscure bit of history.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0ycw4uaX ... re=related

No, it hasn't. He is in teh denial part of the population. Between denial and "all Dr.s are quacks", he rarely goes int to the Dr. A failed back surgery that left his leg numb and continuous pain only solidified his attitude.
