MY ENCORE NOT WORKING

Out of nowhere this morning, I went to use My Encore and got the following error message:

  • Setup Error: Failed to load resources from resource file. Please check your Setup.


I tried rebooting my computer, but it still won't work. My EncorePro works fine, but not this. Any suggestions are welcome, please.

Lori,

Do you have your SQL Server/Service Manager "stopped" or something?
I tried starting MyEncore without either of them running/loaded and got a different message.
Other than thet.....I don't have a clue....sorry.

Den,

I have no idea how to turn it on again if it is. I did a search for it under "Run" and went into the folder, but there doesn't seem to be anything to click on to get it running. And doesn't EncorePro use that server, too? If so, that's working...

Thanks for the thought, but I'm stumped.

Well, never mind.....I started mine up again and stopped it and tried starting MyEncore and it's a different message from what you're getting. I don't know what to tell you. I saw Dered logged in when I first logged on this morning....maybe he saw your message and has an answer.

Oh, no. Is yours not working now, too, or did I misread your post?

Thanks for caring, as usual. I'll let you know if I can fix it. I did some searching in this site for answers and Ozij posted something on another thread about making sure your Windows Updates are current. I thought mine were, but went to the site to check and there were 8 updates I needed. I just installed them and am going to restart my computer now. If you don't hear from me for awhile, MS did it again to me. I once got a virus and a corruption from their updates and they had to work with me to fix it. So here goes...

Okay. I actually tried to do a repair via the software for My Encore and kept getting error messages, so I decided to uninstall and reinstall. That went smoothly AND the best part was, I guess I still had data files for the program stored somewhere in my hard drive as all my data came back when I did the reinstall. I didn't lose anything, which was a bonus.

So problem over, all is well, life can be good sometimes...

We've had this problem before, and I'm trying to remember what causes it It was something simple, but for the life of me it escapes me... I'll take a look through all of the emails I've had.

No, I didn't have a problem with mine.....I was trying some options to see if I could come up with the error message you were getting.

Do I interpret your last post to mean that yours is running OK now?

Yes, it is working. If you ever have the same problem, if you try to unintall, you have an option to repair. But since that didn't work for me, I uninstalled completely and reinstalled and it worked and I actually didn't lose any of my data from the past. I guess it's saved in a file somewhere in the hard drive that doesn't get deleted when you uninstall the program.

In any event, phew, yes, I'm back up and running. God forbid I miss a night's data, right? I think someone upstairs was playing with my head today... . Thanks for your concern.

My Encore

I loaded my Encore, but for some reason it only loads info from 10/11/2005. EncorePro has information stored since 06/07/2005. I tried changing the dates in the preference screen, but it keeps reverting to 10/11/2005. I have tried installing and reinstalling my encore as well, but still reverts to the October date. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Albert,
MyEncore should show all data stored in the Encore Pro database. I suggest that you look at the dates before 10/11 in Encore Pro and make sure that you have detailed data reports for those days and not just compliance data.
How many downloads show on your "Interaction List" in Encore Pro? I suspect that what you are seeing is just the 7 or so days of detailed data that the card can hold.

I started this thread a few days ago. I was getting the following error message when I would try to use My Encore:

Since the first day, I ended up uninstalling and reinstalling the software and it worked. HOWEVER, it only works one time and once I X out, it has to be uninstalled and reinstalled to get it to work again.

H E L P!!!! This is ridiculous. Every morning, I have to do the same thing after reading my results on Encore Pro, which is uninstall/reinstall My Encore to see what it has to say. Any suggestions why I keep getting that error message? I don't shut off my computer after using it OR each night, and just for the hell of it tried to go back in after X'ing out this morning after doing yet another install to get it to work and I got the message just after X'ing out and trying to use the program again. Something is corrupting each time I use the software.

I have reviewed this problem. It occurred before and here is a thread related to is:

Here is the email that mrhyak sent explaining what was the cause of the problem:
... "You don't really have a problem with My Encore, but at the risk of boring you, I will tell you the entire tale just in case it happens to someone else.
1. I originally was given a Pro (not a Pro2) machine. The DME "pulled a fast one" on me and my insurance co.
2. I purchased Encore Pro, and downloaded the data, and learned that the Pro only has compliance data.
3. I used the printouts from Encore Pro and convinced my Dr and Insurance that what I really needed was more data, preferably an Auto machine so that I could determine if the pressure was truly where it should be without the expense of another $2800. sleep study. I also showed them printouts of your fine work with My Encore, and after about 2 months they approved the purchase of the Remstar Auto.
4. I eagerly start downloading the new data into Encore Pro. I created a new patient for the Auto data, but kept the old Pro data.
5. When I tried to use My Encore, I got the "resources" error before anything else.
6. When I installed Encore Pro and My Encore on my desktop at work, and downloaded the data from the new (Auto) machine, everything worked OK.
7. After trying numerous things, I found that as long as the Pro compliance data was not the first patient in the file, My Encore will start and work properly. If the patient with compliance only data is selected, the error will occur, but the program will restart OK. If the first patient in the file is a Pro patient, the My Encore user will never be able to get to even the license screen.
8. I tried to send you a file with the Pro patient as the first one, but my original files had complete personal data in them. As soon as I edited the demographics in Encore Pro, it moved the Pro patient out of the first position in the file. This points to a simple fix for someone who has done the same as me - Edit the demographics of the first patient. My solution was to export the patient data and then re-import it, which also moved it to the end of the file." ...
It looks as if (at least in this case) the structure of the Encore Pro database is the culprit, Do you have a "patient" with compliance data only?

I am at a loss to explain why reinstalling MyEncore fixes the problem temporarily. All the installation does is save the files in the appropriate folder. It does not do anything to the system, such as modify the registry.

Derek,

I am missing the point of all the info you sent. I can't even open mine at all. I have to uninstall and reinstall. Plus, I don't only have compliance data. I have a Remstar Auto with Cflex that gives all the information. Did I miss what you were telling me? I didn't see a fix for this in any of the information you sent, unless there isn't one.
