A fan? Wouldn't that interfere with the humidifier? With the air going into the machine in the sense that it was extra dry to begin with, possibly making the humidifier thirstier than necessary? How about using a 'white noise' machine instead?

Julie. I think she was referring to using a fan until Gradgirl gets her machine.

Gradgirl. I have to say. The couple of weeks I had to wait to get my machine after I had the diagnosis freaked me out too. I did a couple of things. I slept on my side and also as upright as I could if not on my side.

I was afraid to go to sleep. After a few nights of totally fretting and just making the sleeplessness worse I figured...well...I've been living with it for this long I can't stress about another two weeks. I was never so grateful to have the machine though. I think I adapted quickly partly because I was afraid to sleep without it once I got it.
