My RemStar Pro II starts without touching the button
My RemStar Pro II starts without touching the button
I have found that I can get in bed, attach my mask and then just take a few deep breathes and the machine kicks on all by itself. I haven't looked in the manual yet, but this seems like a logical function..can anyone verify if their Remstar unit will do the same thing??

Mine does the same thing when I'm using my Activa nasal mask, but I can't get it to automatically come on with the Ultra Mirage FF. The FF mask is much bigger (actually a bit too big) than the nasal mask, so I assume that the larger volume of air in the FF mask has something to do with it.

I use the Mirage Swift mask with mine and yes, after a few breaths, it cranks up to my pressure of 13. I stopped using the ramp feature ater day 1 so all I have to do is put on my mask, turn on the heat and lay down.
Yup! That's one of the features of these machines. Mine does work with my ResMed Ultra Mirage FF. I also found out (when I was changing filters in the back) that by blowing in the filter opening, it will start, too.

Try BLOWING into the mask a few times. That's what I usually do.

I have to huff and puff and blow your house down in order to get it to kick on with my FF mask . It's just easier to push the button.

Esther,
That's true, too. I also do that on occasion.
No sense in wasting valuable breath on "kick-starting" it when a button works just as well.
Best wishes,
