Since I see different numbers to that in the download dialog, and the numbers vary if I'm downloading more than one day of data, your theory, and accompanying inuendo, doesn't seem to be very soundly based at all.

I guess we'll have to agree to disagree on that Bill. Cheers

Resmed can't control what else you might have done to your PC

My timing for card reading on my desktop system for single night of data is 18 to 19 seconds to actually download the data off the card, then 20 seconds after clicking on the "discard" button for ResScan to complete whatever it does with the downloaded files to be able to display the data (I have 2+ years of data in ResScan).

On my ThinkPad laptop, with a built in SD card reader, it takes 1 second less for the download and the same amount of time after pressing "discard".

Cheers,

Bill

On my five-year-old ailing laptop with an external USB SD card reader, it takes about a minute for ResScan to recognize my SD Card using the quick start. It then asks me if I want to report/view/cancel. I click 'view'. The download starts and takes about 15 seconds for the next dialog box. Press 'discard'. Another 15 to 30 seconds. Data is then visible.

The longest wait for me is the time it takes for the quick start systray helper (little orange sd card symbol) to recognize the card as having been inserted. It's never more than a minute.

G'day Bill, you might be on to something there. Any advice on correct configuration of Vista to improve ResScan D/L times would be appreciated. Pleased to hear your ResScan D/L's are working well. Cheers

I'm not sure what the difference is...

I have about 2 months worth of Data on ResScan.
I use XP Pro but there are not many programs loaded on the OS... mostly its MacAfee DL'ing or running scans that slows things down.
I also run my XP Pro through a virtual machine with VMWare and my Mac that is about 3 years old.

I tested some times. After opening ResScan 3.10... it took 15 seconds to read the card and tell me about DL'ing the Data.
I told it to "Discard" and hit the button... 17 seconds later it was open to the patient and asking me to view data.

I can only think that its overhead on your machine OS or perhaps virus scanning working in the background... I don't think its ResScan itself thats the issue IMHO.
