I do have my hose covered and yes there was a puddle of water inside of the nasal pillow. The hose was also a little moist but I think that could be because I lifted the hose high above my head to drain the water back into the humidifier.

This could be because of physical changes to your face as you have most likely lost some weight if your therapy has been going well.

I thought the fx would be the perfect mask as well for my patients. but it doesn't work for everyone. Since it doesn't have a swivel to adjust the pitch of the pillow up into the nostrils if your nostril angel is flat or how do i describe it?? If you look at your nostrils and cant see the holes at all without lifting your head up it sometimes seems that it doesn't seal well. The silicon straps seem to come close to the eyes as well. The slinky hose is good and no buckle at the back it good as well. Anyone have any other feedback.. steve

I'm going in to my DME on Saturday for a fitting... trying the FX... my RT is not completely excited about it because of seal and no way to adjust the pillow angle... as Steve says.
I'll see how it does for me.
I'm also trying out the Mirage SoftGel... I need a Nasal that allows movement/ side sleeping.

I'll post some results but masks are so personal... and I find that what I like the first day is more like infatuation and long term love may not happen...

I have been using the FX for about a month and love it. It was not a big leap for me I was changing from the LT. As with the LT it took about a week to get used to it. Some suggestions would be is always use a clean mask ever night the only time I have any problem with leaks would be with a pillow that was not cleaned. I would suggest trying to get additional pillows and to always use a clean pillow. The only other suggestion would be to never over tighten the straps. The FX seems to fit better with the straps fairly loose. As for the exhaust, I see that as the only drawback (albeit minor) I would want it not to point down as much as it does now.

I went through abut 8 masks before finding the LT and now the FX. So do not give up there is a mask for everyone.

Thanks, Will. I'll head to the fabric store this weekend to find some nice fleece to make my hose a wrap.

I found that watching the following video about how to adjust the mask for a proper fit really worked well.
For those who find the mask isn't working watch this little video and adjust just as they say. It made all the difference in the world to me after having the worst night sleep since i've been on cpap.

Took home the FX on Saturday... felt pretty good in the fitting and no leaks from side to side motion.

My RT says there has been mixed reviews, especially from the fixed position of the pillow angle...

It is very quiet in operation and the angle for exhaust air is good for me.

I'm going to try over next few days or week.
After first night I have some serious leaks and will have to spend some time going over positioning and straps.
But I was very tired and slept the longest time period in weeks.
But... I am not feeling very rested... its a mixed bag of goodies so far.

As an Aside: I also tried the Mirage SoftGel and found it just as comfortable under pressure...

I believe that was the primary factor for my failure with the mask. A minor hurdle for many, but, for some, just the slightest offset due to angle irregularity can wreak havoc.....

I agree thats why strap (headgear) positioning is of #1 importance. After getting mine set just right I have now had 3 awesome 8+ hrs/night sleep with zero leaks.

I never want to wash my headgear on this unit because its set perfectly.

I washed the headgear for my Swift FX and never took it apart so as not to lose the adjustments I had made!! I just removed the little cheek pads and washed them separately. I left the plastic part and the cloth part of the headgear together. I always wash my headgear by hand for masks and rarely undo them to keep my adjustments.

It fit the same as I had set it after washing! No problem!
