Hi Muffy, Thank you for this figure. So does this example constitute a RERA? Or is it possible that I am being aroused by the marauding pirate armed with the pneumatic dillon?

Hi -SWS, Gulp...not sure if the paint on my bedroom wall could handle too much more EEP, certainly have to turn the pilot light off in my gas heater before I hosed up.

With only a 1% desaturation, no significant drop in waveform amplitude and a little increase in thoracic effort there, yep, that a RERA.

One RERA.

That's disgusting.

Not to worry, BB. I only meant that as a general principle.

No, that was merely the risque image Muffy conjured up---on purpose, no doubt! The viewer ratings on this thread are now bound to get even better...

Well, I looked up "dillon" on the web dictionary, and there is no such word, so I'm pretty sure he meant dildo. But a "pneumatic dildo"?!!?! I have heard of sword swallowing, but this is the first I've heard of dildo swallowing. I wonder if it's an Australian thing. It's probably much safer than sword swallowing.

Hi SU, I think I have worked out the cause for confusion...you must be thinking of the electro-optic Phalanx(MK) (or is that Phall(US) ), the upgrade version of the pneumatic dillon. BTW, we 'Strines prefer to swallow kangaroos (whole), its more orga(s)nic.

-SWS wrote:As an isolated incident above, that's not such a big deal. However, tasking traditional ASV (w/ fixed base pressure) to automatically address a significant outstanding obstructive component is not recommended by manufacturers.
And get a load of this one (again, just one):

An unambiguous obstructive apnea, unaffected by the ASV attack.

Even More Waveform Junk

Post by Muffy » Fri Jun 11, 2010 6:07 pm

Here's that area where the ASV (and/or patient) appears to stutter, more clearly seen in the CPAP channel:

Just about every breath gets a double hit.

I am trying to understand what the algorithm is attempting to acheive during these periods of "double hitting". I suppose, given the flow-metering nature of CPAP, that mid-inhalation the machine senses a partial exhalation followed by the completion of the inhalation cycle i.e. stutter, thus demonstrating the rapid nature of the ASV response to respiratory variations and its charter to maintain tidal volume. Am I dreaming that I am a steam train?

Maybe I have been misguided about the meaning of dillon. Maybe you believe that Dillon (78393) will arrive as le millième voir is eclipsed? Now that is scary...

I think BB just doesn't know how to spell. But it is still **so** ambigous! We'll let SU decide:

1) Dillion guitars were founded here in Canada and is the only place you can still buy the original Dillion guitars from the original source, Dillion Guitars Canada

2) dillion: n. Another word for male genitalia (i.e. penis)

Same thing, right?

I think he meant what he said: dildo.
