Nostril pillows

Question: How do you stop leaks from nostril pillows ?

I am a new user of a CPAP machine.

The mask I used when they did my initial evaluation four weeks ago, was like an jet pilot mask covering nose and mouth with support on the top of my nose ...it was cumbersome and hurt the top of my nose.

So I am now trying out a ResCare Hybrid mask with nasal pillows...

Tried all size pillows, picked the largest one for fit. I am still experiencing some leaks as nostril pillow seem to move out due to the air pressure when exhaling... once that happens ... all hell breaks loose... got to get up and reset everything.

I use tape to hold nostril pillows in place but with limited success... lost of leaks event if the treatment does lower my IAH to approx. 10 ... from 53

Last night must have done something right ... or the tape held ...no leaks or almost (below 9 l/min) ... consequence my IA and IAH score was almost perfect (IAH 3.5). WHAT DID I DO RIGHT ?

If you are interested I posted at on twitter at cpaps9user my first weeks experience ... a I am still looking for answers, If you can help me find them I would appreciate.

I am a user not a supplier or distributor ...I am a totally new user of a Cpap machine

There are many threads on fitting pillows. Rooster has a thread devoted to fitting the Hybrid here viewtopic.php?t=14422&highlight=. Several of us who wear the Hybrid have found the top of the head strap tension critical to pillow fit.

Thanks Muse-Inc for the information.

I did follow the lead.

Not yet comfortable with cutting the chin flap...

The chin flap helps stabilize the mask on my face. Everyone's face is different tho and some cut it off for better fit.
