Used Remstar Auto CFLEX

Post by rpc981 » Sat Apr 03, 2010 2:18 pm

I have a used Remstar Auto CFLEX machine that I’m no longer using and would like to pass on to someone.

It’s about 3 ½ years old but has not been used for the last 2 ½ years. The pump makes a whirring noise that drove me batty. I replaced it with an M-class Respironics that was about as noisy, but at a frequency that didn’t bother me as much. It has less than 3000 hours on it.

So, if you think you can stand the noise, I won’t take more than $50 (make an offer) for it plus whatever it costs to ship. I’m in the U.S. (Michigan) by the way and would prefer to ship it within the United States. It comes complete with manuals (including clinical) and case. I have no humidifier for it.

Send me a PM if you’re interested. Post a reply if you need more info.

You might want to re-check your description. If the machine you're looking to sell LOOKS like the one in my profile (Legacy model), it would not have "A-Flex"......only the M Series Auto w/A-Flex had that. To compound the problem, there were two M Series Autos sold......the first only had C-Flex and then the second edition had both A-Flex and C-Flex.

No, it's true Wulfman. The model # is 1017453 if that can be checked anywhere. It does look like yours, but when you go into setup, the choices are AFLE, CPAP, CFLE and APAP. It was the first model with AFLEX and I got it right after it came out.

AFLE does not stand for A-Flex in the setup. It's a setting for using C-Flex in APAP mode. The APAP mode is without C-Flex.
The Legacy models (like mine) NEVER had "A-Flex".

Edit:
This is copied from the Service Manual:

AFLE Indicates that the Unit is in Auto-CPAP Mode with CFlex Comfort Setting

Interesting - I stand corrected then. All this time I thought it was AFLEX because that's what my RT called it and that was before the M series even came out. Maybe she heard the term because it was in development and thought that's what the AFLE in the setup meant.

Anyway, thanks for the correction. Is there a way to edit the subject that you know of?

Yes, there is a way. I've never done it, but I think if you go back to the original post and click on the "Edit" icon, you can then edit any part of it.

If somehow your Remstar Auto CFLEX is still around, I'm interested.

By the way, I was born and raised in East Lansing!

jjeffey, you posted as a unregistered guest, so I don't think there's any way for rpc981 to contact you. Unregistered people can't send or receive PMs (Private Messages) on the forum.

You might want to register (free) on this forum so rpc981 would be able to send you a PM...and you would be able to send a PM.

Wulfman is right about "AFLE" in a Respironics machine's clinical menu meaning "auto mode with C-Flex turned on."

"AFLE" in the clinical menu doesn't stand for "A-Flex." Glad you were able to edit your subject title, rpc, and hope you find a good home for your machine soon.
