Changing masks?

Post by patdart » Sat Mar 27, 2010 4:36 pm

I've got 4 nights under my 'belt' so to speak, but I am developing a sore spot at the top of one ear and am wondering if you guys have a couple of masks and change them out from night to night to prevent such? I've tried to adjust it, but it seems to settle into the same spot as I sleep. Otherwise, things are going well...I'm averaging more than 9 hrs. a night so far. I'm using the Sleep Easy Respironics pillows and they fit fine. I do awaken a few times to adjust them, but all is going well except for the sore spot and a bit of nose soreness getting used to the air drying my nostrils despite the humidifier.

Thanks to all of you, I might say,

Sore spots need time to heal -- so changing masks is a good idea.
I recently started using a full face mask and got up with a sore red spot on the bridge of my nose after the first nigth. I used the mask for 3 hours a night in the beginning, reverting to my nasal pillows masks when not using the FFM, and even stopped using the FFM entirely for one night . I felt very fortunate to have another mask to turn to.

Yes, it's good to change, and give that spot a "rest", and a chance to heal.

Gee, I wish I had one! Gotta make that happen...

Thanks for answering. There's so much I don't know yet.
