S9 - How often are you still reading your data?

Post by dave21 » Sat Mar 27, 2010 12:32 am

For all those that have broken in their ResMed S9's and have been using them for a couple of weeks and have access to the ResScan 3.10 software, how often are you still reading your data?

I have been reading my data every day (all 2 of them). Once I feel like I have a handle on my treatment, I will probably go to once a week or every two weeks. The question I have is how much detailed data will the card hold? Will I need to download it every day to retain all of the detailed data or will I be able to go to once per week or every other week and still have all of the data?

In looking back I know my father had undiagnosed sleep apnea and he suffered greatly for it. I WILL NOT go through that. Using a cpap is easy compared to that.

I'm up to 2 weeks with the S9 and I'm still reading the data daily, however I have some mask issues. Without the mask issues, I'd probably be reading every 2nd or 3rd day.

You'll get 30 nights of detailed data but ResMed claim only 7 nights of High Resolution data which includes your flow graph. I always find I have 8 days so on the 9th day you lose 1 days worth of High Resolution data.

I would recommend no more less than once per week if you want data like flow.

Just make sure when you import the data you
1. Do not click overwrite as all your flow data and detailed / high resolution data will then drop off the back end in ResScan. Click DISCARD
2. Click SAVE before ejecting the SD card, then close ResScan then eject the SD card. I've had some weird corruption caused by not doing it in this order on a couple of days.

Oops! I didn't see the S9 part of the post. I have an S8 but voted. Sorry hope this doesn't mess up your results too much.

I've only been using the S9 for 2 weeks, and check the data and print the detailed graphs every day, to see if there is any pattern. It's fun. Am I weird?

Actually it's not weird, I've had my S9 since 15th Feb and I'm still checking the data daily. Actually that brings me to another problem, I had a really bad night last night, awoke with heartburn too (and I didn't eat anything anywhere close to bed time). I'll post this on another thread because I'm not sure I can trust the stats and I'll elaborate more on the other thread.

I seem to learn something new every time I look through the data. Once a day, for sure. I no longer check after every nap.
