I really did read this thread as "Soup" and bypassed it! That's because I already have a great Chicken Soup recipe from my mother! It is Passover so it could be appropriate, right?LinkC wrote:Mmmmmmm...I LOVE soup! OH! You said "SOAP"!!!

I think a small business area for us on this site is a great idea.
First, I don't know about the rest of you but I always like to start looking for a product or service within a known group.
Second, small businesses are a great way for some to make a couple extra dollars in these hard times.
Third, I think some or even most are very knowledgable here, I would love to know what some do or what their business is
(if they choose to post it).
We are all in general a good bunch of people lets try to help each other out, what do you say?
Remember, you have the right to ask for references and prior customers and you can always check BBB or an license agency
to verify the business

I've been sending this by PM since it has nothing to do with SOAP, but since there's an interest in SOUP, here it is.OceanGoingGal wrote:Homemade Chicken soup!! My favorite, please do share the recipe with us. I make soup all the time but always love trying other folks recipes.

So here's the recipe, really nothing new but it's my Mom's and it was made with her love.
4lbs of chicken pieces w/bones
2 medium onions,Peeled/ chopped
2 stalks of celery, Peeled/chopped
4 carrots,Peeled/ chopped
4 cloves of garlic, cut in half
2 bay leaves
1/2tsp ground black pepper
I don't use dill but you can if you like the taste
Salt to your taste
Secret Ingredient! 1 medium sweet potato, peeled and cut in small pieces
Carton of Swanson Low Sodium Chicken Broth
Thin noodles
Put chicken in large stock pot with water until covered by 1inch. Bring to a boil, then cover and simmer for about 1 1/2hrs.
Scoop chicken out, discard bones, shred into pieces and return to pot.
Add cut up veggies, noodles, Swansons chicken broth and more water if necessary to cover contents. Add seasonings to taste. Cover pot and simmer for another 30-40 minutes until veggies and noodles are soft.
Enjoy!

Hi Dori, Thanks so much for sharing that recipe. do you mind if I post it on my forum? I have a small forum of people who love to cruise. Cruise Talk Cafe. We have a section called "Cruisers Love To Cook". The members have posted their favorites there. Feel free to drop in and check us out. You might want to grab a few recipes from us. Feel free of course. Some of the recipes are favorites from the cruise lines that have been pared down to normal portions. All good stuff from the great folks of my forum. http://www.cruznutsplace.iforums.us

Laura, of course you can post it. It would make my Mom proud. I also forwarded your forum site to my friends who are going on a first-time cruise in May, that new gigantic ship(I forgot the name now) leaving from Ft. Lauderdale. If I remember I'll let you know.

Hi DoriC, I did post the recipe on my forum. I think the ship you are referring to is Oasis Of The The Seas or possibly the Epic Of The Seas. I have not been aboard either but then I have never met a ship I didn't love!! Thanks again for he recipe.

Before my parents got too fragile they used to doriver cruises in Europe up the Rhine all the way to Budapest and back. They thought it was great. They got to see Europe. My mother got to go all over and my dad would sit on the deck and do nothing and their diets were catered too.OceanGoingGal wrote:Hi DoriC, I did post the recipe on my forum. Thanks so much for the chicken soup recipe, Dori! I have printed it out and will make it in the future. It sounds delicious!DoriC wrote:So here's the recipe, really nothing new but it's my Mom's and it was made with her love.
Yes, your mom would be very proud -- both that her recipe will be enjoyed by so many people and that her daughter (you!) is such a kind, generous person.

Yes, that's it, Oasis of the Sea! I was told it serves up to 6,000 people and 2,000 crew members and it's bigger than the state of Rhode Island!? Do you think it would hold all of this forum?OceanGoingGal wrote:Hi DoriC, I did post the recipe on my forum. Re: Wonderful Homemade Soap by a cpaptalk Member
Dori, I have no idea how many people are on here butI think we could do it!. The Oasis is a HUGE ship. I had reason to price that ship this morning. My forum group is going on a cruise together. We had to scrap that one. We will wait till she is less popular and the prices drop. We are seriously looking at Carnival Freedom which gave us a longer cruise for less money. Anyone is welcome to join that group. I will be posting fares sometime today on my forum.
Today is shopping day and I am going to get the ingredients for your soup. I just know it will be yummy!
