First, above all, accept the fact that it will take time to adjust.

Make small changes to adapt, don't take shotgun approach and try to change everything all at once. Work on finding the right mask, work on getting it adjusted just right, work on finding the right pillow and position, patience. Even several months down the road you'll find yourself tearing the thing off in the middle of the night. Keep seeking support here.

Slowly it will all come together, one day you will find yourself "In The Zone". You'll be checking the machine to see if it's on, you'll find it uncomfortable to sleep without it.

My machine has become as comforting as a teddy bear, I don't sleep well without it, I now feel so much better because of it. The other night I started to doze off without it and kept gagging myself awake. A reminder of how I used to wake up on my hands & knees gasping for breath or choking, I haven't done that in nearly nine months.
