I decided I would loan my machine (mask and all) to my son (who desparately needs a cpap but has no insurance and can't afford one right now) for 2 nights. What we won't do for our children! No matter what age they are. Dummy me! What I really didn't even think about until I got it back was that there would be people smoking in the house. So guess what? I get my cpap back and it is so smoky! I have soaked everything possible in vinegar water then washed with both baby wash and Bath and Body's Eucalyptus and Spearmint soap. I have also replaced the filters. I would give it a sun bath in the fresh air but we have been cloudy for the past 5 days.
What else can I do? I am desperate. I could not even use it last night. I tried to but after about 45 minutes I got an asthma attack so had to go the rest of the night without it. Needless to say I feel terrible right now. Any and all suggestions welcomed!
Thanx!

If it has on auto off option, turn the option off, and the just let the machine run all day long, to give it fresh air inside, where it really needs it.

I did try baby shampoo. And no offence, Joey, but like R&R says smokers cannot smell what the rest of us do. My son could not smell the smoke whatsoever on my cpap, hoses or filters. And although he has recently quit smoking, it has not been long enough for his sense of smell to return to normal. And he doesn't notice the smoky smell in his house yet from friends smoking. But thanks for the tip. I meant to go to the hardware store today R&R but had an appointment at the eye doc after work so I did not get out in time. I soaked (in vinegar) and washed everything washable again and left the cpap running and so managed to sleep with it for a little while last night. I'm doing the same tonight and hope to use it even longer. I really can tell the difference in going without it.
I do appreciate all your suggestions.
